Calvin Klein Inspired (No Sew) Detachable Knit Sleeves in 5mins/Birthday Shout-out

Hello Fashion Lovers,

I paused this post till today because Nov 7th is the anniversary of my birth 😀 and it has been way too long I made a big deal about it. I am not big on celebrating my birthday and half of the time I spend it at work anyways so here goes my attempt to make this day special. I would like to say thank you to those who have already sent messages, called, wrote poems, sang (lol) e.t.c and those who are yet to. I appreciate each and everyone of you. <3 mwah <3

Today’s post is extremely simple, as the topic suggests, it will literally take you 5 minutes or less and requires no sewing or tailoring skills. I picked this project because honestly I was intrigued, a little fascinated and extremely curious especially to find out if it really does provide any warmth. These Knit/Cashmere detachable bad boys from the Calvin Klein Fall campaign are sold for over $400 (yikes). I saw it first on the ever beautiful Beyonce Knowles- Carter and then went searching for its origin. It comes in several colors and I decided to have mine in Blue which is in my opinion the best color in the world *grin*.

  1. Cable Knit Sweater (with Raglan Sleeves)
  2. Scissors

Example of a sweater with raglan sleeves can be seen in the picture below. Notice that the sleeves continue on to the shoulder.

  1. Lay your sweater flat on the floor.
  2. Cut off the sleeves right up through the shoulders. Make sure to cut above the double knitting to avoid fraying of the wool.

Keep scrolling to see how I styled it. These can be worn over a blazer, another sweater for contrast or with a dress on a nippy night out. The dress I’m wearing is also a DIY so give me a shout if you’d like me to put up a tutorial on that too. Happy D-I-YING folks!

Verdict: It does keep you slightly warm.
